Its very difficult choosing the one episode but I think if I was only able to take the one episode to a desert island to remind me of the series then it would have to be 'Arrival'.

The extended opening titles sequence and the amount of Portmeirion footage swings it for me.

This is an old thread, but I'll post anyway. :)

I really like Hammer into Anvil because it is just so satisfying to see No.6 defeat No. 2.

But I really like Once Upon a Time, too, because of the intensity of the performances.

Y'know, it's really hard to single out one episode when they're all so good!

Well, my favourite episode was \"Fall Out\": you think that will be the end but it's not, it's worse than an end, it leaves you with so many questions...

Another episode is \"The Girl Who Was Death\", for the setting and for Number 6.

For many years, \"The Girl Who Was Death\" was probably my least favorite episode. It was a light comedy, before the intensity of \"Once Upon a Time\" and I appreciated that, but otherwise, there just didn't seem to be too much there.

But recently I've been re-thinking that idea and I've come to the realization that \"Girl\" could really be seen as a character study of the man who became Number 6. He was chasing, and being chased by, Death, all for the purpose of protecting innocent lives. He would go to any extreme, risk everything, just to do his duty and save people in danger. A truly heroic character in my book.

Fall Out, Checkmate, and Living in Harmony are probably my favorite episodes. If I had to narrow it down to one, it would be Fall Out.

This is of course a timeless topic.

My fav is The General, because to me this seems so relevant to today's internet. What is the difference, please, between the general/professor and wikipedia? Anyone? Fortunately someone (at MIT? not sure) has started tracking the IP addresses of uploaders and editors. And look what that's revealed.

Try looking up the treaty of adrianople:

The Peace Treaty of Adrianople (also called the Treaty of Edirne) concluded the Russo-Turkish War, 1828-1829 between Russia and the Ottoman Empire. It was signed on September 14, 1829 in Adrianople by Russia's Count Aleksey Orlov and by Turkey's Abdul Kadyr-bey.[1] The Ottoman Empire gave Russia access to the mouths of the Danube and the fortresses of Akhaltsikhe and Akhalkalaki in Georgia. The Sultan recognized Russia's possession of Georgia (with Imeretia, Mingrelia, Guria) and of the Khanates of Erivan and Nakhichevan which had been ceded to the tsar by Persia in the Treaty of Turkmenchay a year earlier. The treaty opened the Dardanelles to all commercial vessels, thus liberating commerce for cereals, live stocks and wood, although it took the Treaty of H
